The Chateau de Chambord is one of the famous manor houses in theworld. The Chateau is located in Chambord, Loir-et-Cher, France. It isknown for its perfect and unique French architecture and verybeautifully blends of the French as well as Italian classicaltraditions.The Chambord was made by King Francois I. The purpose of theconstruction was to make sure that the King was near his mistress,Comtesse de Thoury, who was part of a very important family of France.One can see her arms shape in the carved decor of the chateau.The Chambord Chateau is the largest castle in the entire Loire Valley. It was also built to serve as a hunting place for King Francois I. The main royal residence of the kingwas Chateau de Blois and Chateau de Amboise. The Chambord wasoriginally designed by French Architect called Phil Bert Delorme.However, it was changed quite a few times in the next 20 years of itsconstruction. The most interesting thing is the view of the doublehelix staircase. The castle is made up of a central keep also calledthe central tower that is used for dungeon with four other towers thatsupport all four corners. The Chambord has 440 rooms, 84 staircases and365 fireplaces. The castle has a vault-shape hallway on every floor andgive it a cross shape. The roof of the castle is very often compared tothe skyline of the town. The castle has eleven kinds of towers andthree kinds of chimneys. The Chambord is surrounded by 13,000 acres ofwooded park.
