The Eiffel Tower is one of the most famous icons in the world and islocated on the banks of the Seine River in Paris, France. The EiffelTower is made out of iron and is built on Champ de Mars. The tower gotits name from the engineer who built it. It is the tallest building inthe entire Paris. It is one of the few places in the world that isvisited by more than 200,000,000 tourists since it construction in 1989and it generates maximum revenue as compared to any other monument inthe world.The tower was constructed in just three years. The purpose of thetower was to do radio broadcasting. The tower is 1,063 feet high, witha 79 feet antenna and weighs around 7,900 tons. During the time theEifel Tower was made, many people were surprised and shocked to see itsdaring and intrepid shape. The engineers who were making an effort tocreate it were accused big time of the experiment they were trying todo. The engineers however, were sure and confident of what they had inmind; they could also understand the forces of the wind and knew thatthe structure would support the strong slashes of the wind. Finally,their persistence pays off in the year 1989 when the towersconstruction work got completed and stood as one of the largest towersin the entire Paris.The tower has two restaurants and both are located on the firstfloor. There is an inbuilt lift that can take you to the top floor soyou can witness the marvelous view of Paris, France. | |
